Central Synagogue, Bon Accord Ave, Bondi Junction.

The congregation was originally called Eastern Suburbs Central Synagogue.  The old synagogue was destroyed by fire in the early 1990s and new building designed by Jackson Teece Architects, Damian Barker chief architect.  The main hall has just over 2000 seats and is octagonal with four stained glass windows and a central skylight.  It has fine acoustics partly due to the inward sloping walls above the upper level of seating abutting the ceiling structure.  There are numerous reception hall, sun-drenched entrance foyer and a rear open-air Sukkah.  Two elevators link the underground parking, main floor and upper women's gallery and adjacent are administrative offices, library and board room.
